About

Ashley with Milo

Hi, I’m Ashley , a dog owner from Texas who spent two years trying to train my border collie mix, Milo, through sheer stubbornness and YouTube tutorials. Spoiler: it mostly didn’t work.

After trying half a dozen training approaches , some good, some a total waste of money . I started Train My Woof to document what actually works and what doesn’t. Not from a professional trainer’s perspective, but from a regular person who loves their dog and wants real answers.

Why I Started This Site

When Milo was at his worst , leash pulling, ignoring recall, destroying furniture . I found myself drowning in contradictory advice. Every forum said something different. Every course promised miracles. I wasted money on at least two programs that did nothing before I found approaches that actually clicked.

Train My Woof exists because I wish someone had just told me honestly: here’s what works, here’s what doesn’t, here’s why.

How I Review Courses

I only review courses I’ve actually used with Milo. I go through the full program, track results over at least 4–6 weeks, and write about the real experience , including what frustrated me and where I got stuck. No fluff summaries based on reading a sales page.

Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means I earn a small commission if you buy through them. This never changes what I write , if something didn’t work for us, I say so. You can read our full affiliate disclosure here.

Thanks for being here. If you have a question or want to know if a specific course is worth trying, feel free to leave a comment on any post.
